About Us
S.O.N.G.A. National Society of Galápagos C. A. was founded in the legendary Galápagos Islands to process tuna, lobster and other seafood. In 1,982 Songa moved its operations to Guayaquil. Once Songa re-settled, it was acquired by one of its present owners and in 1,994 invited another fellow-shrimp grower to co-owned the company. The combined operation assured SONGA with 70% of the shrimp sold.
Both partners own 5,100 hectares of shrimp farms which combined with the output of another 2,000 hectares of year-round loyal suppliers, assures an annual production of 14,000 tons.
As a responsible producer, our aquaculture farming and processing protocols apply the best environmental and food safety practices.

CERTIFICATION
In June of 2006, SONGA was subjected to a rigorous external Audit of Certification on the part of the company BVQi Ecuador S.A. in its Plant of Process in Guayaquil , for what we have been recommended for the certification ISO 9001:2000 in our System Of Administration of Quality. And we are awaiting emission of the certificate for the Correspondig Authority.

Is led by highly qualified progressive professionals and operated by specialized personnel with expertise in different areas, applying the best quality and control techniques in the process to achieve reliability and trazability of its products, respecting the environment and meeting the needs and expectations of our clients.
