Traceability

Traceability Definition

They are different definitions of traceability, especially in the quality product standards.

The article 3 of Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of January 28 2002 defines traceability as:

"The possibility of finding and following the track, across all the production, transformation and distribution steps, of a food, an animal or substance used or to be used in food production".

In other words traceability is a good way to rebuilt the history of a product by means of the information selected for this purpose.

Songa’s Traceability

SONGA, as a vertical integrated company delivers volume, freshness and traceability in each shrimp exported.

BEFORE PROCESSING PLANT
Our information system joins all the data from each farm, including the origin and feed of the larvae, raw material used, farm number, shift and process date.

IN THE PROCESS
All raw material received in SONGA is identified with a unique code witch it is easily traceable from its reception threw processing steps and final distribution.

This code is kept in all our processes (shell on or value added) originated from the same raw material. This allows us to know the name of suppliers, reception and process date, quality results of analysis and responsible of the inspection.
Also we can record the quantity and packaging of each lot and the quantity of product sent in each shipping.

In conclusion the traceability system allows us to trace all our products and the raw materials with which they were processed from the cultive in the laboratories, harvest, process and final packing in plant.

Traceability is guaranteed through comprehensive record keeping of each harvested pond and lot number, thus, allowing us to provide our clients the highest degree of backtrack information.
